Basically, your permanent disability level will determine your SJDB voucher amount. If it is less than 15%, you can receive up to $4,000. If it is 15% to 25%, you can receive up to $6,000. If it is 26% to 49%, you can receive up to $8,000. And if it is 50% to 99%, you can receive up to $10,000.
How Do I Use the Voucher?
First of all, you can only use the voucher to help you pay for and attend a California public school or receive training with a provider on the state’s special list known as the EPTL. But how do you use it? You must present the voucher to the school and counselor of your choice so that they can contact the claims administrator for direct payment. If you submit receipts to the claims administrator, they must reimburse you within 45 days after receiving the receipts along with your signed voucher.
