With today’s “I’m in a hurry” attitude, many people turn to energy drinks for that boost of energy that they need to get them through the day.
Recently, Monster Energy Drink Corporation was hit with a new lawsuit. The mother of a 19-year old boy, who died last year from cardiac arrhythmia, is blaming his death on his frequent use of the company’s energy drink.
The lawsuit states that the boy would not have died if he did not drink two cans of the energy drink every day for the previous three years. In addition, it states that the company failed to warn about the possible dangers the drink can possess.
Currently, the Food and Drug Administration is investigating reports of deaths linked to these types of drinks, but stated that the reports don’t prove the drinks caused the deaths. In addition, the American Medical Association voted to adopt a policy supporting a ban of the marketing of energy drinks to children under the age of 18.
For those not familiar with drinks, such as Monster Energy, Rockstar or Red Bull, they contain massive and excessive amounts of caffeine and other stimulants that may lead to a host of health problems in your people.
Reports indicate that between 30% and 50% of young adults consume energy drinks. These drinks have increased in popularity over the past ten years.
Incomplete and negligent labeling is another issue. The labels on items, from these energy drinks, needs to be thorough and complete. When it is not, it is possible for people to use the product improperly, which can cause injury or even death in some cases.
It can be difficult to know who is at fault in these types of cases. An experienced attorney will be able to take your case and find the root of the problem, whether it is the fault of the designer, the manufacturer, the distributor, the supplier, or the retailer. Knowing where the problem lays will help your case proceed more smoothly, and it can help to make others aware of the problem with the product.
If you or your child has gotten ill or died after consuming this drink, financial compensation may be available as a result of the manufacturer’s failure to adequately warn about the severe health risks associated with this drink.

My sincere condolences go out to the families of the victims who have died.
